question about using jaws on FC

Hey everyone! I had a question about using jaws on Freedom Chat. I know that Jaws is supposed to read what people write automatically, but mine doesn't. I was wondering if maybe this had something to do with my version of Jaws. I have Jaws 5.0. It makes talking on FC really inconvenient, because I always have to use the arrow keys to read what people are writing. If anyone knows why this is happening, please let me know. thanks *smiles

Hello, as far as I know your problem has got nothing to do with the current version of jaws you are using. I think it's a setting in jaws that you have to change. Does jaws say what you type while you're on fc?

Um I have the latest vursion of FC. I have 1.6.1 or maybe 1.6.1a.

Did you install the scripts? I know that's an ignorant question but a possibility.

Yes I also use version 5 and I have no problems with it. Yes I am sure the scripts or settings need to be fixed. If it it is a pain on fc don't you think that its a pain on aim?

My guess is the scripts didn't get on there. Because I'm really only a geek wanabee, the best I can offer is to reinstall freedom chat. During the install, Freedom looks for the versions of jaws you have and you pick which one you want. IN your case, make sure that selection is on Jaws 5.0. It should work fine.
